This unique piece has such distinctive markings that came from placement inside the wood kiln. A disc of “wadding “ which is clay that we use to separate the pieces in the kiln was placed in the middle and another piece was stacked on top. As the flame and ash flowed around the obstruction, a sunburst pattern was created. Another lovely surprise from the wood fire process!
